Wait. What’s wrong with 911?

Americans have been taught to call 911 in an emergency since the 1960's. Today however, consumer technology has pushed far beyond the systems that 911 operators are using.

BlueLight uses the advanced GPS technology on your smartphone to instantly give 911 operators the specific information they need to help save your life.

When you don’t know where you are

When calling 911 from a cell phone, it takes up to 6 minutes for responders to receive your location within 900 feet.

BlueLight overlays your location on your screen with an accuracy of 60 feet or less, connects you to the closest responder – from 911 to Campus Security – and can simultaneously alert your emergency contacts.

When you’re on campus

Did you know that calling 911 on campus doesn’t always route you to Campus Security?

When you make an emergency request from inside campus boundaries BlueLight will automatically connect you to the closest emergency services, saving precious time.

When you’re on the move

Whether you’re on your way home from work or headed to a new spot across town, BlueLight lets you easily share your location with friends and family even if they don’t have the BlueLight app.

BlueLight automatically lets them know when you’ve arrived safely.
